Cutting Board Care

How To Keep Your JacksBoards Clean
Wash your board with warm soapy water after each use and dry it with a soft towel. Do not soak or submerge the board in a sink of water, this will cause the board to soak up water and later warp or split. Never wash your board in the dishwasher as this will cause irreversible damage.

How To Maintain Your JacksBoards
Oil your board with Howard Butcher Block Conditioner at least once a month. If you use you board daily or notice it’s looking dry, up the oiling to two or three times a month. Letting your board dry out may cause splitting to occur. If you only use your board as a display piece of art, you should still oil it once a month.

Should I Store My JacksBoards On Its Side Or Flat?
After cleaning your board, you should stand it on end until dry. Once dry you should lay it flat on display on your kitchen counter or dining room table. Never store it in an area that is humid or subject to hot temperatures.

Should I Use The Same Side Of My JacksBoards For Fish, Poultry And Meats That I Use For Vegetables?
I intentionally make all of my boards without feet so you can use one side for meats, poultry and fish, and use the opposite side for vegetables, cheeses and breads.
